BANK PO EXAM PATTERN:
Bank Probationary Officer (PO) Recruitment process depends on the performance of candidates in the exam conducted by each bank. Candidates are recruited for the post of bank Probationary Officer (PO) after clearing the Bank PO Exam conducted by the respected bank.
Work of Probationary Officer:
Probationary Officer (PO) will be asked to do any work during the Probation period. Once the probationary period gets completed and once the employee has been confirmed with the job they will be given the daily routine work like posting, passing, scrolling or advances or anything that is related to banking.
Graduates interested in Banking can apply for Probationary Officer post all over bank in India. Many jobs are available for post of probationary Officer (PO) in bank all over India.
Probationary Officers Salary Details:
- Firstly the candidates who are selected for the post of Probationary Officer will be on probationary period for two years.
- The starting salary/basic pay per month will be around Rs.12000/-.
- For the Officers Junior Management Grade Scale I. The pay scale/salary will be Rs.10, 000-470/6-12820-500/3-14320-560/7-18240; these persons will also be eligible for D.A., H.R.A. & C.C.A. as per rules in force from time to time.
- In all metropolitan cities currently the initial salary amount per month of Probationary Officers are approximately Rs.17000/-, including D.A., H.R.A. and C.C.A., are approximately Rs.17000/-.
Probationary Officer Exam Pattern:
i) Objective type exam-Phase-I
ii) Main Test –Phase II:
iii) Group Discussion & Interview-Phase III
I.) Objective type exam-Phase-I:
The Objective Type Exam for the Post of Probationary Officer consists of
1. General Awareness or Computer Knowledge
2. English Language
3. Reasoning Ability Test
4. Quantitative Aptitude
The duration of Objective type exam will be 2hours.
II) Main Test –Phase II:
Main test will be an Objective as well as Descriptive type examination.
- The objective type exam will be held for the duration of 2 hours, the objective type examination consists of
1.Test of Reasoning
2. Data Analysis and Interpretation
3. Marketing Knowledge
4. Test of English Language - The Descriptive type exam will be only a test of English knowledge –
*. The Time duration for Descriptive type test will be 60 Minutes.
III) Group Discussion & Interview-Phase III:
The candidates who are selected in phase II main test will be called for Group Discussion and then after selecting the candidates in group discussion , they will be send for personal Interview.
Then the selected candidates from Tier III will be considered as final selected person for the post of probationary officer.
Eligibility Criteria for Post of Bank Probationary Officer:
• The candidate must be between the age limit of (21 years to 30 years) and the candidate must be Citizen of India.
•The candidate must be a graduate with aggregate of at least 60 % from a recognized University to be eligible for this course.
• To be eligible candidate for this course ,the candidate must be have computer knowledge.

i have a doubt regarding the eligibility for the PO exams…will a person have to be a graduate in a strict sense during the exam or final year students may appear too?
Can u gv sum info about wht a PO xctly hs to do in the banks? Wht abt the multinational banks like citi and IOB etc….?
Please confirm the last date of PO examination fee paid for 2010.
